AFFORDABLE HOUSING & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Affordable housing is an increasingly important part of Each One Teach 1 Inc.'s community-development strategy.
Rural communities can face significant housing challenges, including limited housing supply, aging housing stock, rising development and rehabilitation costs, accessibility needs, and shortages of quality housing affordable to households with modest incomes.
Each One Teach 1 Inc. is building its affordable-housing development capacity and seeks to work with experienced public, nonprofit, financial, and development partners as projects advance from concept through feasibility, financing, development, and implementation.
Our objective is to identify responsible housing solutions that respond to documented needs in Tazewell County and neighboring Appalachian communities.

Supporting the development, rehabilitation, or preservation of quality rental housing affordable to qualifying households.

Exploring housing solutions that can help working individuals and families live within or near the communities where they work and contribute.

Veterans Housing Opportunities

Pursuing partnerships and funding opportunities that may help address documented housing needs affecting veterans and veteran households.

Senior & Accessible Housing

Exploring housing models that can expand safe, affordable, and accessible housing opportunities for older adults and individuals with mobility or accessibility needs.

Housing Rehabilitation & Preservation

Identifying opportunities to rehabilitate existing properties, improve housing quality, increase energy efficiency and accessibility, and preserve affordable housing.

Homeownership Opportunities

Exploring programs and partnerships that can help qualifying households pursue sustainable homeownership.

Innovative & Cost-Efficient Construction

Evaluating conventional and emerging construction approaches—including technologies such as 3D concrete construction—where appropriate and where they can demonstrate potential to improve efficiency, durability, affordability, or housing production.
